CAS Training Ltd, in collaboration with their network of colleges and training providers, are pleased to be able to offer care staff across England, access to a range of FREE nationally accredited distance learning courses.
Here is what Chris had to say...

1.   What was your first job?
Apart from supermarket checkout girl, bar worker and factory operative whilst at university, my first professional role was as a social worker specializing in work with children and families. It was a tough but rewarding job which I did for 10 years, rising to Senior Social worker before moving into teaching as a lecturer in health and social care in a FE college.
2.   What was the first lesson you learned in business?
That people buy from people and not to underestimate the importance of networking and good customer relations!
Former business contacts and ex-colleagues have been crucial in enabling me to be successful in establishing my new business CAS Training Ltd, and making it so successful.
3.   What single event or person gave you the impetus to succeed?
Being made redundant when I least expected it!
After 10 years heading up employer engagement for the Tribal group, redundancy made me realize I had had enough of being part of a large corporate, and wanted to be able to do business without the bureaucracy and red tape involved. I can now plan my own time, work more creatively with employers and reap the rewards of my own efforts.
4.    Do you have a business philosophy?
Only promise what you can deliver and then deliver it to a high standard. Work with honesty and integrity and never take people for granted -you never know when you might need them!
5.    What is the best decision you've ever made?
To set up CAS Training Ltd- never looked back since day 1!
6.   Biggest regret?
Not becoming my own boss sooner- I might have been retired by now!
7.   What was the happiest and the worst day of your working life?
At the time- worst day was when I was told I was being made redundant, on reflection it should have been the happiest!
8.    Who do you most admire in business?
Richard Branson
9.   How do you unwind away from the business?
Gardening, musical theatre, cruising and watching far too much TV
