North Wales Care Association Code of Practice
A Member will act at all times to uphold high professional standards by: Implementing the service standards specified in the Regulations and National Standards issued by the National Assembly for Wales and complying with all statutory requirements. Applying the standards and good practices set out in “Creating a Home from Home” published by The Residential Forum. Or other such guidance relevant to service delivery needs recognised by the Association. Maintaining and advancing the good standing and reputation of the profession of Care Service Provider or Manager and of the Association. Protecting and championing the interests and well being of individual service users. Protecting clients by the implementation of a Health and Safety Policy, which meets the requirements of the relevant legislation and the guidance, issued by the Health and Safety Executive. Providing a program of relevant training and professional development for managers and staff to ensure that they are competent to carry out the duties allocated to them. Working in a collaborative and co-operative manner with other professionals providing care and recognise their contribution to that care. Working in an open and co-operative manner with clients and their advocates fostering their independence and respecting their involvement in the planning and delivery of care. Recognising the individuality and dignity of each client and responding to their care needs. Providing equality of opportunity to clients and avoiding discriminatory practices. Protecting all confidential information concerning residents and clients. Ensuring that all employees are aware of the content of the Code of Conduct and fulfill its requirements as it relates to them. Reporting to the appropriate person or authority any action by an individual or organisation, bound by the Code of Conduct, which appears to conflict with the requirements of the Code.
